Photo Update
misc pics of madison over the last several weeks, again she is shirtless in many of them!

such a cheese!

madison likes to shut herself in rooms, especially the bathroom, and when it's pitch black. a couple weeks ago she trapped one of our cats int he too, and when she opened the door to come out, this is what she looked like.

playing outside on her new slide (this is right before we left AZ)

i scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

great grandma ellsworth swingling with madison, who is shirtless after eating her ice cream cone.

"folding clothes" together - madison wouldn't take them off her head for SO long afterwards.

this is why madison's hair usualyy looks out of control in all the pictures. she lasted almost 30 seconds with the bow in her hair. this week i went in to get her up from her nap and she handed me her two hair ties, one in each hand, that she pulled out from her pigtails.

playing with the candy dispenser at the mall in st george.

mowing and gardening with macy. madison would be happy all day long if she could stay outside the whole time.

this is what happens when i try to pose madison for a picture.

i said, "madison, can you smell the flower?" this was her response. even funnier was her face after she TASTED it.

the neighbor's kitten wanting madison to come out and play

this picture is on our family blog but i love it! madison trying to ride macy like a horse - macy is very patient!

our morning walks with my mom and macy around the church. madison doesn't like it when macy gets to far away and boy does madison chew her out! a bunch of jibberish with a little handshake.

bathtime! she was having too much fun! (i probably should have edited this photo)

macy and the kitten were playing int he backyard and madison wanted to join them so bad. of coarse they scattered when she walked up.

her hair is growing! i attempted to get all of madison's hair in her pigtails and it worked for about 1/2 an hour, till her hair dried and all the short hairs came loose. but it was so cute and it made her seem so much older!

i got little headbands for madison but since she is a "big girl" i can't help her put them on, only SHE can do it. then she brushed her her afterward.

relaxing while i finished getting ready. see her water bottle on the bed? my mom and sister each have one and madison always wanted to drink out of them so they bought one for her and she LOVES it! she drinks so much water now, it's great!

madison playing with her aunt hannah. my mom played with her later that day and she said madison wanted her to get in the box like hannah did and my mom tried to explain that she wouldn't fit. madison crawls in and pulls all the flaps shut and sits there for seriously a whole minute and then pops out like a jack in the box. too cute!

Teeter Totter
madison has gotten so much stuff recently! first her new bed and now a slide and teeter totter, courtesy of the nielson's. thanks aunt elise! madison LOVES them and we moved the teeter totter inside because she wanted to play with it so much. she probably gets on that thing 50 times a day. sometimes she sits, sometimes she rocks, and sometimes she stretches all the way down to get a book to read while she relaxes up there. the other day she really wanted to sit on the teeter totter with her new cup, and wouldn't let me help her. she takes it EVERYWHERE with her! here is a string of photos showing her effort. a video would have been better to catch all her grunts and squeals of frustration.

she made it! but only lasted about 30 seconds before climbing down to the other side and getting another drink. she makes me laugh constantly!

Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite!
madison LOVES her new bed! the minute it was set up she moved all her stuffed animals over and climbed on. she'll have to be a little older though before we actually let her sleep in it.
making herself comfortable. in fact when she gets tired now- on the bed she goes- to take a little break.
boy does she love this blanket!
playing hide and go seek. she actually fell right off the bed, got up, climbed back on, and never took the blanket off her head. i think she knew we were laughing at was just trying to be funny.

My Little Helper
while dan was out of town last week i decided to have madison 'help' me make dinner each night. usually that is a stressful time of day but we turned it into something fun. i pulled a kitchen chair up to the counter and madison was boxed in on 3 sides with me on the other. from there she could see everything and had the most fun 'doing dishes' which consisted of grabbing anything within reach and putting it under the running water. she was very proud of herself and it was so fun for me to watch her. i need to do a better job at including her in what i am doing.
well now dan is home, and i haven't needed madison's 'help' getting dinner ready because she can play with dad. until last night that is. i was working away preparing dinner and here comes madison, huffing and puffing, pushing a chair from the table into the kitchen and up against the counter. then she actually climbed all the way up into the chair and stood up and clapped as if to say, "i did it mom and now i am ready to help!" i laughed pretty hard and thought it was so cute! she is growing up so fast!

Daddy's Girl
unfortunately, dan is out of town again. this time it's for a week and he's in minnesota. poor madison misses him so much! i try not to even say 'dad' because she gets excited and starts looking for him. last night dan called for a minute and i told him to talk to madison. usually this entails the phone being pushed away the second it gets close to her ear. for some reason madison HATES listening on the phone. at least until last night. as soon as the phone was close enough for her to hear her dad talking she stopped what she was doing, got a huge smile on her face, and listened intently. when he said, "goodnight madison, i love you!" she smiled even bigger and waved. it made me so happy but broke my heart at the same time. she misses him so much! we'll see if she 'talks' to him again tonight!

Puppy Love
my ellsworth g-parents just got a little puppy and madison LOVES her. it is adorable. as soon as we walk in the house she stops, pats her leg, and clucks her tongue to call it over. then madison laughs and giggles as she runs around the house with it chasing after her. today she sat down and the puppy came right into her lap, licking her. i will never have to worry about madison being scared of animals, in fact i only have to worry that she will be TOO friendly. pictures to follow soon!
